The Sunday New York Times featured a full page add for Jet Airways is one of the biggest airlines in India who was announcing their plans to expand outside the incredible continent to a major airport near you. This is intriguing for several reasons:
1.) I would personally like to experience the landing on one of these flights out of NY to another country outside of India. In India, landings are judged by their speed---none of this slow leisurely landing found in the US. When its time to land you are going down---fast and furious. Hold on.
2.) This is such a great example of the hyper growth found in India at the moment. A small airline started in 1993 is expanding outside its boards to bring services into the US. I am very interested to see how they attempt to compete on price. Tapping into the market traveling to Mumbai is a great move...somebody has to fly all of us US folks over there.
3.) Finally, in India these folks serve up basil seed juice to customers which is a opaque substance that includes floating basil seeds...which are very slimy. I would advise not to eat or drink the food.
The food on Jet Airways is fine. I have never had a problem with it after eleven years. The slimey juice... yes, generally stay away from that.
